When the Davis Administration took office, The Bahamas was in crisis. Today, the economy has made a strong recovery and is moving forward with steady growth.
The economy grew by 14.4% in 2022 and 4.3% in 2023, eventually restoring output beyond pre-COVID levels. Unemployment fell to 8.7% in 2024 – the lowest rate since 2008 , as tens of thousands of jobs were created or regained across tourism, construction, and services.
Over $15 billion in new investments are funding development throughout the archipelago, including billions in Grand Bahama and the Family Islands. To spur growth, the government is investing heavily in Family Island infrastructure, airports, and the expansion of quality healthcare for all Bahamians.
The result is strong economic growth, record labour participation, and rising consumer confidence under the PLP’s first term.
